Jewelry: Pretty with a Purpose

As luck would have it…Jenn Cook, who read my tarot cards, also designs and makes jewelry. I commissioned her to design a necklace based on my tarot card reading. The mala necklace she created is absolutely perfect! Not only is it beautiful, but it’s also been made with stones and gems to support my intentions around personal and spiritual growth.

Mala is a Sanskrit word meaning garland or rosary. Like a rosary, malas are meditation or prayer beads. They are ancient tools developed to keep the mind focused and clear of thoughts. A full mala necklace contains 108 counting beads plus one guru bead.

The 108 beads on my mala necklace are made up of a combination of the following:

Herkimer Diamonds

Known as the Stone of Attunement, the Herkimer diamond can help one attune to any situation or environment. Even if you’re in unfamiliar territory or situation, surrounded by people you don’t know and with intentions that are unclear, the energies of the Herkimer diamond will put you at ease and guide you in the right direction.

This crystal can powerfully amplify your spiritual energy. It will give you what your spirit needs and keep the negative energies away so that you can fully enhance your spirit.

This crystal can also help release tension in your body, giving you a sense of peace and serenity in this loud and crazy world. It will encourage you to do more of the things that make you feel alive, young, light, and free.

Lemurian Calcite

This crystal represents tranquility, emotional healing, and inner growth. It is associated with the water element, invoking a sense of calmness and soothing energies.

Rutilated Quartz

This crystal is highly regarded for its ability to soothe dark moods, relieve fears and anxiety, and act as an antidepressant. It promotes forgiveness, self-control, and strength of will, helping individuals find inner peace and harmony. It also aids in reaching the root of problems by enhancing intuition and psychic abilities.

And finally, the necklace's pendant is Clear Quartz. This crystal, often referred to as the “master healer,” is said to cleanse and balance the aura, promoting clarity of mind and purpose. It is also said to help release emotional baggage, past traumas, and limiting beliefs, allowing for personal growth and transformation.
